VOTE FOR EARTH

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming. For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Cli… Continue

Do You Know About Amrita Devi?

It is 10th September (Bhadrapad Shukla Dasami) and I want to talk about Amrita Devi. A great woman who initiated a great movement called "Chipko movement". Now I want to tell you a real story about a small village 'Khejadali' district Jodhpur (Rajasthan).
In year 1730, there was a demand of wood for the construction of Jodhpur fort. For the aim it was decided to take wood from the tree Khejadi (Prosopis cineraria) at 'Khejadali' village. This decision was conveyed to about 84 villages. Hundreds… Continue

Mera Bharat Mahaan

According new data on World population, up to 2012 the world’s population will rise to 7 thousand millions. Now this time the world’s population is rising @ 1.2% per year while the population growth rate of India is nearly 1.6% per year. In this manner up to 2050 we will outstrip China and will get first position in the world. Growing population puts a burden on our natural resources. It is a main reason that’s why our natural resources are getting reduced. Should we celebrate for getting first… Continue

what is the cost of DOVE soap?

Hi,

I've just discovered that Unilever, the company that makes products like Dove, is involved in destroying rainforest to make ingredients for Dove soap and other popular products. I've written to Unilever to ask them to change, please do the same and help spread the word. --------------KESHAV D. GUPTA

hello keshav sir,
i want to share something with our group.

All things like wild life, forests, lakes, mountains, rivers, etc. are the important part of nature and also very beneficial to human beings but these are being vanished by none other than the human beings under the name of development. The above said all natural things are existing only because of water. If there is no water there is no nature at all and also no electricity.

In most of all institutions in our country, there is no system for water management yet. I noticed many times working people daily using their building’s toilets and canteens. Some people open the tap for water and forget to close it or never close properly. The buildings have 24 hrs water supply and sometimes the taps left open by people for overnight also. Many times, I had closed the taps which are running in full force in my presence and also told others to do so. I am telling about only one building, but there are thousands of buildings in one city and million tons of water is being wasted like above everyday. If this will continue then what will be the future? Still many peoples are unaware about saving of water. I don’t know what is the mentality behind wasting of water. Humans have their tongue to tell that they are thirsty but what about the innocent animals, plants, and soil.

Some buildings have large terrace area. For such buildings, if they work with solar plant, there will be lots of electricity saving in other words saving of water.

In countries, there are no enough open surfaces left for rainwater to merge into soil because cement flooring has been created everywhere. If anybody gets his skin dry, he uses moisturizer, but what about our earth? Earth is losing its moisturizer and becoming dry and dry everyday. Rainwater harvesting is needed to be legally essential for all types of construction.

Mother cares for her children without any demand, but it’s a duty for her children to take care of her. Nature is also our mother and we must have to take care of her.

Hi Keshav,
A very Good Morning again.
Yes all such activities is in my practice, I keep reminding the peoples around me irrespective of age for saving of nature and other resources including energy too. I Influence my family members to carry the bags if they go for shopping and if not having accept only one plastic bag if it can contain all things. Like wise many more efforts I want to do not only for water for our Nation too. I am looking for a good ground where I can fulfill my desire to serve the Nation and Nature. I am looking for a good NGO to join, Can you help me out please.

Have a good day :)

Good Morning Keshav,
Nice to here from you:)
I started it from my Home. I keep watching my family members that they should not waste water, I keep commenting them not to keep the TAP open, Bath using shower and yes I deactivated one of my bathroom flush because it waste a lot of water which can be avoided to put put water by mug and clean it every week, So with this effort our toilet is clean and at the same time we are saving water.

SOLAR ENERGY

Hi to all ECOFRIENDS
I want to know about SOLAR CAR.
What is prise of solar that car? So if possible ican buy it able to reduce th air polution
to some extent.

Exhibit of wild animals in Advertisements

In India many advertisers use wild animals on national TV to enthuse the audience. Is it not a crime? The use of animal gives a wrong signal to the viewers who consider animals to be for the entertainment of the masses. Already we are seeing a uncontrollable perilous environmental degradation from all quarters. Is it not high time that the govt curb the usage of animals in advt.

my son's interest in environment

It is very heartening to see enthusiastic parents like you who want to imbibe love for nature in their child.
As a child I think Salman can learn about the flora and fauna ( avian ) in and around his environment and in out country.
Once he starts learning, he will start appreciating the beauty of nature. As he grows old he will understand the environmental degradation caused by the greed of humans. Hopefully he will guide other youngsters to appreciate the beauty of nature.

The need of the hour…

Dear Sir,
