The Tank is Getting Over.... just a passing thought!

An indefinite petrol strike caught my eye at the nearby petrol pump and the very next minute I hear someone saying “fill the tank.”

I have never before seen a long and I mean a really long queue outside a petrol pump. From high-end to low end cars and from jazzy and to simple two wheelers, almost every type of vehicle present. All of them had just one raison d'être at that point of time “Dude, just fill the tank.”

In the wait for a precious need of the hour, I looked around trying to grasp the… Continue

Protecting the Indian Hotspot

‘What does Sustainable Development really mean?’

Over the past century the human ingenuity has brought about radical changes in the way we lead our lives. With the technological development, the demands and desires of billions living on the planet, it was believed in the 1950’s that by the turn of the millennium, the natural resources would drastically deplete. But the millennium changed and the demands increased and we are still fortunate to use the resources of this planet. But now, the same questions are arising in this decade, and unfortun… Continue

welcome to earth matters...Radhika.
great to have you as part of the online community..!
was very happy to read yr blog..
Sustainable development...we need to maintain a balance ..progress cannot be at the cost of the environment..
unfortunately we have tipped the balance and the toll is going to be heavy..as you said ...only a collective effort can begin to help restore the balance..
there is need for information and more needs to be done to educate our people and choose responsible leaders...leaders with a vision and who understand that our survival and that of the planet depends on our actions and the choices we make today..
must do some projects together..Pl keep on sharing and writing.
thanks and welcome once again..

Sweet Plant - Stevia

There's a new kid on the block (well, kind-of new to some of us anyway) ... stevia. This intriguing sweetener is ages old in some parts of the world – mostly South America and China, but relatively new in the U.S. It has no calories, no nothing that can harm you, even if you have diabetes. It is not processed like high-fructose corn syrup or agave nectar, and the final sweetener is totally unharmed in the extracting process.

It is made from a shrub that is relatively easy to grow – that grew to…
