Praveen,ur initiative is good but as soniya said we need to develop the infrastructure of our country like roads etc. and for that trees have to be suffered but ya there is a good alternative for that and i.e Tree Transplantation which have already been done in various cities but these transplanted trees need to be taken care properly. So, even if there is need to cut trees we should focus on its transplantation rather than cutting. But there is one more problem with this, that its a costly process so I would like to request NGOs to help this cause.

hi
pankaj! well your idea is gud! but i guess this can be aplicable in america nad all other developed countries! coz we cant get rid of exams and electronic exams for this we need to develop our system which u can say can be a long process! practically we can do alot of things to save trees! like not to buy woodeen furniture, use paper wisely! recycle paper!, plant more trees, buy bamboo products as they grow really fast!, cut euckilyptus tree(may be my spelling can be wrong) coz they cause soil erosion! thus not gud for other trees too,

hii Pankaj.. wht u suggested.. is nice.. even minimum use of paper is being practiced in some corporate offices... even ther r some online exams...
but wht we need to think is most of electricity in India is generated by coal.. so it too causes lots of pollution along with depletion of non renewable resources!

Dear Snehal and Soniya, think u both r very much worried for trees... I told u yaar the best way to protect trees are "SAY NO TO XAMS' coz they need lot of paper. ha ha ha ha.........................................................
cheer up yaar. Say YES to Electronic Exams and Say NO to Paper Pencil Exams. this is right that we, environmental lovers should remain optimistic snehal and for your kind information i want to let you know that the permission to cut a tree by an individual is applicable all over India but the matter is whether these govt bodies really want to save their own rules and regulations, this is the question. as i said earlier a private individual person if want to cut a green tree, even in its residential or on their personal property then also he or she should obtain a permission from Munciple corporation, having a genuine reason. on the other hand the govt authorities are free to vanish their own rules and regulations any time...........
and soniya if u really wanna do something for these trees, there is only a way in my opinion. just reach your local newspaper office, give them ur feed backs, let them understand the need, and give them something to publish which further may attract the other environmental lover.

relax soniya,
wht u r talkin abt r practical difficulties... i m pleased to know that you have tried to work it out... if we get frustrated situation seems hopeless... so try to keep yourself calm...
if u want to make difference you can make use of "right to information"... details are available on internet..
if what you find is dubious than it can be a material proof... u can write letter to editor of dainik bhaskar indore.. as they seem interested in the matter.. they can publish ur letter in grievence column or so.. that's what we can do in democracy...KEEP TRYING!

hi
snehal! okk i will go and check out the laws here! well about that rotract club! they dont want to get into coz they dont want to fight agaginst nagar nigam, and before working on anything we have to call uon a meeting to discuss and in tht meeting majority of them walked out . so i cant take a initiative unless all members say say or i get majority votes!.
the other problem is the nagar nigam says that we will re transplant the trees to a different place and they have done it before but mostly all trees died. and this news get published also in dainik bhaskar indore but still no use!even the nagar nigam is saying that they hav made 500 or so gardens in indore but when we go and ask them they dont have the details or ask us to come the later! even this news got published and when reporters asked them they gave dubious answer. we have right to information to ask them but what should one do if they are giving the right answer.

hii...soniya
actually soniya ther r environmental laws..... i don't think they change regionally.... but masses don't knw abt thm.... any gov. body cannot do wht they feel they hv to stick by some regulations..... if municipal co-operation is cutting a lot of trees.... may be they want that land for some developmental work.... in such case residents or NGO's must demand & do some re plantation if they r not doing on own!
Today getting local media coverage for such event's is also practicable if u hv few recognized activist or some organization's involved......
well i never joined rotract club.... but wht i hv seen during college is that most members r active if they r assigned work & not when they r told abt it... such organizations hv to show some work... so wht u can do is convey ur concern & plans to some post holder's... may be publically..... hope it help's!
Today for NGO/social worker's recognition of work is more imp. than work itself.... tht's wht i feel... may be wrong in case of few!

Exhibit of wild animals in Advertisements

In India many advertisers use wild animals on national TV to enthuse the audience. Is it not a crime? The use of animal gives a wrong signal to the viewers who consider animals to be for the entertainment of the masses. Already we are seeing a uncontrollable perilous environmental degradation from all quarters. Is it not high time that the govt curb the usage of animals in advt.

my son's interest in environment

It is very heartening to see enthusiastic parents like you who want to imbibe love for nature in their child.
As a child I think Salman can learn about the flora and fauna ( avian ) in and around his environment and in out country.
Once he starts learning, he will start appreciating the beauty of nature. As he grows old he will understand the environmental degradation caused by the greed of humans. Hopefully he will guide other youngsters to appreciate the beauty of nature.

The need of the hour…
