Use of Rain Water

Today we find the scarcity of water just because of our worst ways of using water. This years mansoon has started so there is need to use this rain water. Can anyone tell me the best way how to use rain water that washes away from roofs. What are the different ways to allow the rain water get into the earth so that groundwater level will also increase.

Hello Rameshwar, The best way to save rain water is establishment of rain water harvesting system in houses and other buildings. It will also increase under ground water level.

so that the groundwater remains or is replenished we must take some special care. the rain water collected in terraces can be utilised by making proper arrangement( pipeline laid which transports it to the underground tanks) , in this way the roof water will not flow out and get wasted but will be utilised by u in daily activities but do take care that roofs remain clean, by sweeping it often. one thing u must remember is that rain water is the purest form of water. Hi Vijayendra, you are not absolutely correct. Rain water, which passes through our atmosphere, is not purest form of water. It gets some impurities from atmosphere.

i would like to do rainwater harvesting in my soc. but i dont think that people in my soc. would be ready to do so. what shall i do?

Hi Karishma, you should tell them about scarcity of this natural resource. Also tell them that if we do not take any step to save the water, we as well as our coming generation will face a serious water crisis.
