Did we ever benefit our environment?

I was trying to remember when technology, or science, have worked towards preventing the environment and ecology from sinking. Could not come upon an instance where we have been a contributing factor to an environment that has already existed in its natural state. We have always been making repairs - putting our efforts to cover up the damages we made in the past. We cause much of the environmental problems, and then try to make up for it.

Any efforts (currently in implementation) that nourish the ecosystem rather than replenish it (caused due to the human factor in the first place)?

That is the sad thing my friend. When technology COULD be a benefit but humanity is too lazy to work for the good of the whole. Everyone is out for themselves.Being Earth friendly is hard since they look at ya as a tree hugger. I personally never hugged a tree.
