Todays Episode of Earth Matters was regarding the diverse Marine life in our country, like crabs, oysters, and an amazing spectrum of animals which form a very significant part in our ecosystem.

Todays episode highlighted on Deforestation and its after-effects in our country. It is absolutely shocking to learn how brutally people are literally killing trees by disrupting their food and water carrying tissues. Todays show also told about th various acts and laws formulated to check the rapd deforestation in India. Starting from as early as 1854 till today mumerous steps have been taken up in this direction but the area under forest cover is gradually decreasing. Thus we need to understand the benifit of forests in maintaining a balance in our ecosystem as well as in our lives. The significance of forests and wildlife need to be understood by the populace, so that we all can together help restore the very soul of our Earth.

Sweet Plant - Stevia

There's a new kid on the block (well, kind-of new to some of us anyway) ... stevia. This intriguing sweetener is ages old in some parts of the world – mostly South America and China, but relatively new in the U.S. It has no calories, no nothing that can harm you, even if you have diabetes. It is not processed like high-fructose corn syrup or agave nectar, and the final sweetener is totally unharmed in the extracting process.

It is made from a shrub that is relatively easy to grow – that grew to…
