regarding what?

See, both the things go hand in hand. If population has given birth to pollution then it is we only who can make a control on it.our needs are increasing day by day, so in order to fulfill it, more industries are being set up for manufacturing more products and obviously- more industries means more pollution.

ofcourse they are inter-related...but at the same time, population is not the only cause of pollution...coz if we look around us, there are many people who own more than 1 vehicle, and also coz there are many who prefer using their private vehicles instead of the public transport...
i feel, along with population, lack of awareness as also lack of sensitivity towards the environment go a long way in increasing pollution...

please think more ..
i think it is related to each other...
ok

Oh yes!! completely inter related....but yes...to go with it...less awareness, lack of responsibility etc. are some additional factors and are making situation worse.

This statement is very correct in all means. As population increases, demands will increase and in order to meet the
increasing demands ,we are cutting down more and more trees i.e deforestation l is causing soil erosion. As we know the
desires of human are unending and for meeting those demands we are contributing to different types of pollution.Industries are being set up for meeting the increased demands and more industries means more harmfull gases i.e pollution.

well amir and reena i partially agree with ur statement.......coz...avoiding population is difficult than avoiding pollution.....actully i wanted to make an alteration to your statement its unaware population which happens to be the mother of pollution........

I think, it is not. Some countries like Japan, Korea, China are though very dense in population, yet the polution rate among these countries are much more minimised than many low-population countries. The most important thing is consciousness, not the population, although i am not disagree in population control, it, somehow diminishes the divine beauty of our Mother Earth.

Oh subarata i think you are also right but my statment is also right.
and population and polution is related same case.

Population issue is an alibi of the rich for eliminating the poor. Their intention is exhibited in the form of ever increasing number of cars on the roads most of which, in my view, is the most unwanted item on the planet. They burn fuel for no reason. The same is true of most of the consumer items. If the people in the rich nations were sensitive enough to the cause of Climate Change/ Global Warming they would have proposed reduction in car production and change in their life style like having residences near their work place and have every other facilities like day to day schooling, marketing in their vicinity. Higher the population higher is the need of agri-resources for their existence and livelihood. The rich men need the same agri-resources for growing bio fuels like Jetrofa etc. This is the cause of conflict of consumerism vs population. A rough estimate of one billion as the sustainable number is being circulated. I am making a prophesy- the next step will be to ask replacement of humans by Auto operated machines in large numbers which will not depend on agri - resources but energy from different sources as a part of geological formation which anyway is not infinite. Hence search for alternative energy sources like bio-fuels is the need of the time for a consumerist culture. I am expecting this proposal to be seriously discussed for next 20 years and implemented in next 70-75 years. I am afraid that the unscruplous people in the developed world may even take to developing medicines or micro-organisms which may help in population reduction in large numbers in small time.

I should not be construed as saying that population is not a problem but if the attitude of the Market forces which is in existence today, is to gobble up all the resources and encourage consumerist culture it is much more dangerous for the life on the plant . So control on consumerism must precede population control. Capitalism does not even think of equity. It is just for self. So, the systems have different effect on the social, economic and political environment. I am looking more into the intentions and attitude of ruling elites as a long term view because this ultimately gets converted into policies, laws, rules, culture and finally the habit at different stages of implementation. Capitalism induced individuals in India too are different. Their thought and action is typically a western or American type-Consumerist one.

Sweet Plant - Stevia

There's a new kid on the block (well, kind-of new to some of us anyway) ... stevia. This intriguing sweetener is ages old in some parts of the world – mostly South America and China, but relatively new in the U.S. It has no calories, no nothing that can harm you, even if you have diabetes. It is not processed like high-fructose corn syrup or agave nectar, and the final sweetener is totally unharmed in the extracting process.

It is made from a shrub that is relatively easy to grow – that grew to…
