Earth Matters

Save mother earth!

Dear Frens,

Just want to share our experience with u all- Plantation in Notre Dame school, NTPC, Baderpur, New Delhi.
Earth Matters Foundation took the opportunity to plant trees in Notre Dame School, NTPC, Baderpur.

We started the champaign on 23rd July 2009 at 8 am in the Notre Dame School ground. It was a big ground, surrounded with big walls and sufficient space for plantation. Our EMF team along with teachers and students were busy in digging the holes and some of the students were carrying manure, plant saplings and fence.

Finally at 8.30 am we started putting manure and plant sapling in the holes and the whole champaign turned into an excited adventure. The students were so excited, they were rushing towards plant saplings to plant them and felt proud to call them as Their Plant.

The champaign was on full swing, every one was contributing to the best of their efforts. 35 saplings consisting of Shisam, Bel, Chandni, Kenner, Pedali papadi and Ashoka were planted by Earth Matters Foundation accompanied by around 50 students and 5 teachers.

After planting, the holes were filled, watered and the plants were guarded by a tree guard. We took a group photo after the completion of plantation Drive.

After plantation, We distributed our visiting cards and information about our Series-Earth Matters.

All together it was a successful champaign, we got huge response from school students and staff.

Exhibit of wild animals in Advertisements

In India many advertisers use wild animals on national TV to enthuse the audience. Is it not a crime? The use of animal gives a wrong signal to the viewers who consider animals to be for the entertainment of the masses. Already we are seeing a uncontrollable perilous environmental degradation from all quarters. Is it not high time that the govt curb the usage of animals in advt.

my son's interest in environment

It is very heartening to see enthusiastic parents like you who want to imbibe love for nature in their child.
As a child I think Salman can learn about the flora and fauna ( avian ) in and around his environment and in out country.
Once he starts learning, he will start appreciating the beauty of nature. As he grows old he will understand the environmental degradation caused by the greed of humans. Hopefully he will guide other youngsters to appreciate the beauty of nature.

The need of the hour…
