need help

i went to Jammu few days back. there's a water body called Baand Ganga(in vaishno devi). you won't beleive, there was no water at all. the hills over there were covered with garbage like lastic bags, papers & lots more.... i dont know what to do ... can anybody help????

my god.. that sounds terrible.

i hope there are ngo's in the area or at the very least the tourism body of the state should have something in place to deal with the pressures of tourism during these months.

The infrastructure needs to be setup and maintained.

you can write a petition to the municipal body in the area. you might have to research and find out about baand ganga - its relevance - and then write to the municipality. it is a longterm project to restore such a water body and can only be done with proper awareness among the tourists who come there and a partnership between the government and the people living there.

i agree.please get in touch with the municipal corporation there, or contact any ngo who works around that area.once you inform them, they can take the matter further and help restore the baand ganga..please follow it up. you can research about that area and send them material about the imporatnce of this water body.

my god... its really strange how the basic snese is lacking. people go there take their photos with the water behind them and throw the garbage right there.

Even in this photo we can see how the people haev their backs turned to the filth thats piled up

hi sushant. the photograph that you displayed, is having enough water. But this year you'll see more amount of garbage than water.... whenever you go there just look at it & then u'll see the latest picture. u can say that ur displayed photograph is having huge amt. of water.......

Just this is my openion , my name is vinay thorat, You go on that sight (in Jammu) and collect all bags and go to the recovery office of polythene bags,
Or this suggestion you will tell that peoples, i.e. recovery of xenobiotics garbage
